The pedestrian crossing bridge is situated at Kuniyamuthur, Coimbatore. This bridge was built in the year 2016 for public usage as it was difficult for road crossing in that area.
The Kuniyamuthur bridge is worth Rs.75, 00,000 for construction and is fully made of iron.
As the public is using the road for crossing instead of the bridge which was specially made for crossing purpose this decision was taken by the Government. Nowadays the bridge is mostly used for fitting advertisement banners and by drunkards for sleeping purposes
As it is unnecessary at that place the Government has decided to shift the Kuniyamuthur bridge 250 meters away near Government School for student crossing purposes. The Government has approved Rs.35,60,000 for the shifting project.
