The police department launched a new operation KANTHUVATTI 2.0 on Thursday. They raided 41 places in the Kovai district and arrested 10 moneylenders and booked 19.
This operation was held because of the case registered by V Shanmugam of Balu Garden at BK Pudur, owner of SB Steals. He borrowed 4 lakh from Natarajan to develop his business then he repaid the amount with interest, but Natarajan demanded more money. So he complained about Natarajan.
Then the police department planned and raided the house of N Natarajan of Thirumalaiyampalam in Madukkarai. They got 1Cr in cash,28 cheque leaves, and some promissory notes.
As the police received complaints from several persons, they came to a decision to raid 41 places across the district. They seized 379 land Documents, 127 cheque leaves, 48 debit cards, 18 bank passbooks, 54 signed blank papers, 211 vehicle rig certificates, 79 promissory notes, 3 passports, and 7 aadhar cards.
