A group of three people have escaped with a gold chain from a house near the town of Annur on Thursday. The house is situated at Ayemaputhur.
The main door of the house was not locked so the police assume that the thieves must have entered the house through that door. The house had two floors.
The aged couple namely a 62 year old Subramani and 51 years old Radhamani his wife used to sleep in the ground floor. While his son Kalaivanan who is 28 years old and his daughter Sandhya with her husband Mr.Pradeep used to sleep in the first floor.
After they went to sleep as usual these burglars have entered the house and have locked the door to first floor. They have snatched a gold chain worth 6.2 sovereigns from Radhamani and have attacked her when she tried to catch them.
As the chain snatchers escaped they have immediately informed the police department.
The police officials have started investigation about the case. The police have also cross questioned the family members and the area people. Forensic team was also called for collecting evidence reports.
